This popular downtown Victoria pizza shop is bringing a new slice of comedy to the city

One of downtown Victoria’s popular pizza shops is bringing a new addition to the venue.

“We’re not going to give up,” is the mindset of Victoria-based comedian and event organizer, Paul McKinnon who has dedicated a great part of his life to putting Victoria’s comedy scene on the map.

The new comedy club is calling Brickyard Pizza home as the venue is set to offer monthly outings with the first slated for December followed by a second show on January 19th.

The crew of talented comedians set to take the stage next week include: Ryan Bangma, Evan Mumford, Marie-Jo Bourque, Paul Oppers, and Zane Oak.

After spending the past three years organizing sold-out shows at  Fernwood Comedy Nights, Mckinnon says the introduction of Brickyard Comedy Night is a result of a comedy scene that continues to grow in Victoria.

“There’s a lot of people putting together shows and I think we’ve reached a critical mass in Victoria now where we can go and put on more shows,” Mckinnon told Victoria Buzz.

For comedy fans looking to learn more about future events or how to get involved in a show, Mckinnon says folks can find updates through his production AMPS 2-11 or through Victoria Standup Comedy via Facebook.

With limited seating for this event, McKinnon says those looking to attend should purchase their tickets soon before the show sells out.

Tickets will sell for $15 a piece or $20 for two tickets.

To purchase tickets, you can either call and request a ticket through Brickyard Pizza at (250) 995-2722 or purchase in person.
