Identity sought: Police release photo of Nanaimo hit-and-run suspect

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run last month.

In a media release, police say at about 12:30 a.m. on December 30th, the accused individual backed her vehicle into the Shell Gas Station, located at 199 Nicol Street. 

Nanaimo RCMP says the impact caused significant damage to the building. 

After backing into the store, the driver exited her vehicle, went inside the store and spoke to the employee.

Despite claiming responsibility for her actions, the driver did not provide contact information and proceeded to get back into her vehicle and drove off.

A license plate wasn’t able to be recorded before the suspect left. 

According to surveillance footage a Caucasian woman around 35 to 45 years old, with brown hair tied back and wearing glasses.

Police ask that anyone with information on the identity of this person, call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
