Happy Thursday, Victoria.

We’ve reached the penultimate day of the work week and with just one day to go before the weekend, there is no better time than the present to enjoy a night on the town.

From basking in the good times of rock and roll to being serenaded while enjoying happy hour, here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Thursday, February 2nd:

Good times society

Good Times Society will take The Jim Beam Stage to bring you a blend of Americana, Soul, and Rock & Roll.

  • Where: 502 Discovery Street
  • When: Thursday, February 2nd, 9 p.m.

Screening of Touki Bouki

A vivid, fractured portrait of Senegal in the early 1970s. In this French New Wave–influenced fantasy-drama, two young lovers long to leave Dakar for the glamour and comforts of France, but their escape plan is beset by complications both concrete and mystical.

Characterized by dazzling imagery and music, Touki bouki is widely considered one of the most important African films ever made.

  • Where: 3800 Finnerty Road
  • When: Thursday, February 2nd, 5 p.m. or 7 p.m.

Happy Hour Vocal Jazz

Dine in and at the Oswego hotel Thursday night as you’re serenaded by the one and only Angela Verbrugge.

  • Where: The Oswego Hotel, 50 Oswego Street
  • When: Thursday, February 2nd, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Wes Carrol Confabulation

The Wes Carroll Confabulation (sextet) walks the tight-rope, balancing detailed arrangements with the power of spontaneity.

Since early 2015, they have honed their unique blend: stretching out into a world of hip-hop grooves, soul and electricity while not losing their jazz footing.

  • Where: Hermann’s Jazz Club, 753 View Street
  • When: Thursday, February 2nd, 7 p.m.

Melanin Magic

These illuminating performers will captivate you not once but TWICE! Here you’re invited for an evening of spicy burlesque that is guaranteed to leave you breathless.
