It could be a blistery day as we head into the weekend, Victoria!
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria Friday afternoon and into the evening.
According to the weather agency, a frontal system crossing the southcoast will bring strong southeast winds of 70 km/h winds near the water this afternoon, with gusts reaching 90 km/h.
The winds will shift to southwest 50 gusting to 70 km/h this evening and ease near midnight.
“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches,'” the weather alert warned.
Along with the winds, the weather is calling for rain most of the weekend with temperatures hovering between 6 and 10°C this weekend.
