It’s Pride Month, so you know what that means!

Plenty of fabulous, heartwarming, and vibrant Pride events are happening in Victoria and we don’t want you to miss a single one of them. 

That is why we have put together this ultimate list, so you can stay up to date and add things to your own calendars! 

Without further delay, here are the Pride events happening in and around Victoria in June and July:

Saanich Pride in the Park

This year marks the second annual Pride in the Park celebration in Beckwith Park!

Everyone is welcome to enjoy an afternoon of family friendly activities and entertainment — including face painting, drag storytime, and more.

Sunday Screenings at Vic Theatre

Throughout the month of June, the Vic Theatre has been screening beloved, retro queer-focused films.

Grab your pals and cozy up for the two remaining features:

Pride

This film is based on the true story of LGBTQ activists who raised funds for the 1984 UK miner’s strike!

Tickets are priced at $13.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

This film features two drag queens and a trans woman as they adventure across the Australian outback — touring in a bus named “Priscilla.”

Pride Day in Sidney

Celebrate Pride in Sidney with music, face painting, giveaways and more. Take the opportunity to pose with their rainbow umbrella display and the rainbow sidewalk!

There will also be a fundraiser for the Saanich Peninsula Youth Health Clinic as well. 

Come check it out and show your support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community!

Pride Swim

On Saturday, June 24th the Oak Bay Swimming Pool is hosting a Pride swim!

After regular swimming hours, members of the LGBTQ2SIA+, allies, and friends are invited to join this inclusive and safe event.

This is an opportunity to make friends and celebrate our wonderful community!

  • When: Saturday, June 24th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Youth Pride Kick-Off

For 2SLGBTQ+ aged 15 to 21, it’s described as a Queer Masquerade party and will include music, dancing, and performances!

Head over to Odd Fellows Hall and make some friends and dance the night away.

  • When: Thursday, June 29th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Salon Q: A Pride Cabaret

Join Metro Studio Theatre and host, Gouda Gabor, for a cabaret featuring an all local line-up of queer voices!

General admission tickets are $27 and VIP are $100.

Memorial Drag Ball Game

Described as a community favourite, the Memorial Drag Ball Game is the perfect way to unwind with plenty of entertainment, food, and drinks! 

This special event traces its roots back to 1993 and began in honour of friends lost to HIV/AIDS.

Visit Victoria West Park to enjoy the fun and celebrate the community!

Queer Activism Night

Filled to the brim with motivational speakers, this event at the Bay Centre is meant to bring everyone together and open the floor to complex topics — including empowerment and political issues.

Big Gay Dog Walk

Grab your furry pals and head down to Dallas Road!

This highly-anticipated dog walk is back for another year of costume and trick contests and plenty of socializing. 

Bring your easy-breezy-beautiful doggo and meet some new friends!

  • When: Thursday, July 6th from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pride In The Word

On Saturday, July 8th, you’re invited to enjoy the Victoria Pride Society for one of Canada’s largest pride literary events!

Get excited for readings from Tash McAdam, Adèle Barclay, and Tony Correia.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.

  • Where: Lecture Theatre, Victoria Conference Centre 720 Douglas Street
  • When: Saturday, July 8th from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.)

Pride Parade

This is the largest Pride event on the island! 

Featuring over 100 different colourful entries and more than 40,000 spectators across the city, this parade is always guaranteed to blow your mind and fill your heart. 

Grab your glitter, flags, suspenders, and whatever else you need to feel fantastic and we’ll see you there!

  • Where: Starts at Douglas and Pandora
  • When: Sunday, July 9th at 11 a.m.

Pride Festival in the Park

The parade after party is open to everyone and will feature plenty of performances, vendors, water stations, bike valet, kids and adult game zone and more! 

It’s licensed as well, so you’ll be able to enjoy a drink or two while you check out what’s happening on the main stage.

Stay tuned to their website as more details are released! The suggested donation is $5. There will also be additional entry points added off Simcoe this year!
