Share

A 40-year-old woman was arrested last week after driving through an Oak Bay roadblock.

In a shocking incident on June 2nd, at around 11:30 p.m., Oak Bay Police officers narrowly escaped a potentially dangerous situation while conducting a roadblock at the intersection of Beach Drive and Windsor Road.

While talking with a driver at the roadblock, officers noticed a vehicle about four cars behind revving its engine.

Police say the vehicle suddenly veered into the oncoming traffic and accelerated towards the officers, forcing them to quickly maneuver off the road to avoid a collision.

Fortunately, the officers managed to capture the license plate of the offending vehicle and promptly informed neighboring police departments.

The vehicle, along with its 40-year-old female driver, was later apprehended by VicPD after being involved in another traffic incident.

The suspect is currently in police custody, and charges are pending.
