Sidney launches survey looking for public feedback on new logo design

The Township of Sidney is looking for a glow up!

A local graphic design firm, FOE Creative, has been hired by Sidney to capture the essence of the town for a new official logo design.

Now, Sidney is seeking the public’s opinion on what direction to take with the new logo.

The township says the last logo has served them well over the past 15 years but some people think the script font is dated and hard to read. Not only that, but the colour scheme lends itself to having the light aqua-coloured tagline blend into the white background.

In the spirit of accessibility, and finding an official seal that’s easier to read and recognize, FOE Creative has presented the township with two options which the public can vote on in a public survey.

Sidney wants to assure its residents however, that the new logo will not impact or change the town’s signage, nor the “Sidney by the Sea” tagline.

Instead, the new logo will simply be applied to the website and social media channels, advertisements, posters and publications such as Town Talk.

First, in June, more than 200 residents voted on what the colour palette should be for the new design and what they would like to see represented in the logo.

FOE Creative took that feedback and ran with it. Now, the survey has gone live and all residents of Sidney are invited to pick their favourite of the two options.

Option 1:

(Town of Sidney)

Option 2:

(Town of Sidney)

So far, social media feedback on the two redesigns have garnered serious input on approval of one or both of the designs, while others have turned to humour asking, “Where are the seagulls?”

What do you think of the designs? Take the online survey to have your say! The survey closes on August 8th.

The Town of Sidney is updating its logo to a more accessible and professional design. We now have two design options to…
