Next week’s episode of the Amazing Race Canada is set to showcase some of the most captivating locations on southern Vancouver Island, promising viewers an adrenaline-packed adventure.
Racers will be descending upon the charming city of Victoria, where they’ll encounter a series of thrilling challenges and breathtaking landmarks.
Teaser clips from the previous episode hinted at some of the locales awaiting the contestants.
Craidarroch Castle, an iconic Victorian mansion, will host a spine-chilling experience described as “fright night in the middle of the day.”
Meanwhile, the Victoria Bug Zoo will test the teams as they “fight their fears” against a fascinating array of creepy crawlies.
The Malahat Skywalk, known for its stunning views of the Saanich Peninsula, will also serve as a featured location, adding another element of suspense and excitement to the episode.
“We’re proud to be featured as one of the stops along the Vancouver Island leg of the Amazing Race Canada,” Ken Bailey, General Manager of Malahat Skywalk said to Victoria Buzz in an email statement.
“We can’t wait for viewers from across Canada to see the stunning landscapes and thrilling adventure the racers got up to at Malahat SkyWalk.”
“It’s a great opportunity to showcase the culture, beauty, and adventure that Malahat SkyWalk and Southern Vancouver Island offer to visitors,” added Bailey.
Among the challenges glimpsed in the teasers are a physically demanding boot camp, where participants will don Canadian military fatigues and build tents.
Additionally, the racers will undertake a paddle-boarding challenge that will surely test their balance and determination.
This particular episode is notable as it marks the return of one of the two Vancouver Island teams that that remain in the race—we won’t tell you who though!
The race began with ten teams, including a couple from Courtenay and another from Comox Valley. All began the journey vying for the ultimate prize on the show, which comprises $250,000 in cash, an all-expenses-paid trip around the world, and the exciting addition of two brand-new vehicles.
Southern Vancouver Island has a history with the Amazing Race Canada, having previously hosted the starting line of the show’s sixth season in front of Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University in Colwood in 2018.
The upcoming episode is sure to be an action-packed and visually stunning showcase of the region’s diverse attractions, combining thrilling challenges with the natural beauty and cultural heritage that southern Vancouver Island has to offer.
