In a notable move, the Victoria Royals have decided to part ways with 2003-born forward Teague Patton, trading him to the Everett Silvertips.

In return, the Royals have acquired a 4th round pick in the 2026 draft, adding to their pool of prospects for the future.

During the 2022-23 season, Patton showcased his skills and dedication on the ice, playing in all 68 games for the Royals.

He demonstrated his scoring prowess by netting 16 goals and contributing an impressive 33 assists, culminating in a total of 49 points.

His performance was pivotal to the Royals’ efforts throughout the season, earning him a reputation as a reliable and dynamic player.

Before his tenure with the Victoria Royals, Patton honed his abilities over two seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers from 2020 to 2022.

It was during their 2019 training camp that he caught the attention of the Tigers, leading to his signing with the team.

However, Patton’s journey in hockey didn’t begin with the Tigers. He first rose to prominence as an exceptional talent for the Okanagan Rockets U18 AAA squad, representing his hometown of Kelowna.

The trade to the Everett Silvertips opens up new opportunities for both Patton and the Royals. For the player, it represents a fresh start with a different organization, presenting a chance to showcase his skills on a new platform.

“Teague brings healthy competition to our lineup,” said Silvertips general manager/head coach Dennis Williams.

“He’s had individual success in Victoria and has been in a leadership role. We were looking to add another 20-year-old to elevate our upcoming camp and provide good, healthy competition. Teague has a good opportunity to step in grow with our team.”

This is the first trade that the Royals have made since the hiring of Joey Poljanowski as Vice President of Hockey Operations and Jake Heisinger as Associate General Manager.
