Calling all owners of newer Hyundai vehicles!

The company is currently recalling more than 11,000 cars and SUVs in Canada due to a potential fire risk.

Transport Canada’s official recall notice states that a total of 11,120 vehicles have been impacted across the country, and this is a matter that requires serious attention.

The specific problem revolves around the transmission electric oil pump’s circuit board in select Hyundai cars and SUVs.

The issue stems from the possibility of a damaged circuit board leading to a short circuit, consequently elevating the risk of a fire.

“As a result, the circuit board could short circuit and overheat, and various electrical systems may not work properly,” reads the recall notice.

As a precautionary measure, Hyundai is advising drivers with affected vehicles to park their cars outdoors and away from structures and other vehicles until the necessary recall repairs have been carried out.

To ascertain whether your vehicle falls under this recall, you can verify by entering your Vehicle Identification Number on the designated website.
