Victoria’s cat-inspired film event returns to Vic Theatre this August

Stop doom-scrolling for cat videos and get yourself a ticket to Victoria’s CatVideoFest 2023!

The Vic Theatre is once again hosting the CatVideoFest which will be a 70 minute compilation that will have the audience saying “awe,” laughing and maybe even crying — cuteness overload can spark a number of emotional reactions.

The event is also a fundraiser for a good cause and will directly help local cats.

A part of every ticket purchased will go directly to Cat’s Cradle Animal Rescue who operate locally out of Greater Victoria.

Cat’s Cradle was started in order to aid, rescue, rehabilitate, spay/neuter, and re-home distressed, abandoned, or neglected cats as well as dogs who are considered unadoptable.

They don’t have a physical space for a shelter, so all the animals in their care are fostered by caring Victorian cat-lovers until they are able to be rehomed permanently.

Donations and charitable events such as the CatVideoFest are what keeps Cat’s Cradle afloat and keeps animals being cared for.

All cat enthusiasts are welcome at this event, but sadly, cats themselves musi be left at home.

The CatVideoFest is a three day affair, but much of the festival does not permit minors, being a 19+ affair. That being said, there is one showing where Victoria’s cat-lovers of all ages are welcome on Saturday, August 19th at 3:30 p.m.
