11 shots of the new Trackside Paint Jam graffiti artwork along Esquimalt’s E&N Trail (PHOTOS)

The industrial stretch of the E&N Trail in Esquimalt just got a makeover thanks to several talented graffiti artists and the efforts of the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub (ECAH).

From mid-August to early September, the Trackside Paint Jam took place along the E&N Trail to give artists an opportunity to re-up the existing art and give trail-users something new, professionally done and beautiful to look at. 

The stretch of trail that features this graffiti artwork is actually considered one of Canada’s largest outdoor, free access art galleries. It’s called the Trackside Art Gallery.

The gallery is located between Lampson Street and Esquimalt Road along the E&N. 

“This year’s graffiti jam is pretty exciting,” says co-organizer Jason Colville.

“We were able to remove the defunct panels at the top of the Trackside Art Gallery. This year we are using that recovered space to provide opportunities to a diverse group of experienced graffiti and mural artists to create large-scale works that aren’t typically done in the area.”
