It’s Wednesday—time for a mid-week celebration!

Go on a date to the IMAX Theatre for a special screening of Blade Runner 2049, check out a dramatic play at Langham Court Theatre, or check out some of the educational opportunities around the city.

Whatever you decide, it’s nice to break routine and make the most of your week!

Langham Court Theatre

In need of some artificial drama to spice up your everyday?

Langham Court Theatre is excited to present their play, ‘Maggie’s Getting Married’—detailing the opinions of the wedding and the interwoven family complications.

It’s opening debut will take place this Wednesday and the show will run until October 8th!

Comedy Night at The Mint

Dim the lights and set the stage — Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance have picked another great lineup for this Wednesday’s comedy night!

Always new and always filling up fast, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.

National Tree Day

Celebrate the importance of trees with the family at Beacon Hill Park!

There will be a number of different sources of entertainment to keep everyone entertained and engaged, including kids’ nature activities and face-painting, educational booths, and live music.

Educational booths will include the Habitat Acquisition Trust, Garry Oak Meadow Preservation Society, the Compost Education Centre, and booths from the City of Victoria including Growing in the City and Urban Forestry staff.

This event is free to attend!

Live at Lunch: Royal BC Museum

This monthly series gives visitors the chance to hear directly from curators, archivists, staff, and researchers at the Royal BC Museum as well as fascinating community members and guests.

For this Wednesday, you’ll learn about the ethnobotany of some Chinese ‘melons’ and how humans have changed the biology of these plants. You’ll also hear some of the traditional stories that villagers have about them!

This event is free and held within the Newcombe Conference Hall at the museum.

Blade Runner 2049

Movie enthusiasts, this is for you!

This Wednesday, you’re invited to enjoy a special screening of Blade Runner 2049, hosted by the Victoria Film Society.

The movie will screen in the IMAX Theatre at the Royal BC Museum and is an exclusive one-night-only showing!

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

Concession will be open in case you want to purchase snacks before the movie starts—they recommend you show up around 6:40 p.m. if you plan on getting food.
