Quick, jot down the list of projects you’ve been meaning to complete—an enhanced home improvement DIY shopping experience is coming our way!

RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers, will be swallowing the Lowe’s retail company locations on the island to make room for RONA+—a harmonious combination of the two.

Over the coming weeks, Lowe’s stores in Langford, Tillicum, and Nanaimo will be converted to the brand-new RONA+ banner.

According to the release, this transition project has been in the works since last June, and this is a part of the continuing plan to make RONA the leader of the Canadian home improvement sector.

It is also said that the new RONA+ stores will offer customers an enhanced shopping experience with a stylish assortment of products in the brands Canadians know and trust, flexible credit options, outstanding VIPpro benefits for contractors and home improvement professionals, as well as lower prices on thousands of products.

“This is an important step for the future of RONA,” said Andrew Iacobucci, CEO of RONA inc.

“The conversions of Lowe’s stores represent a significant investment and a renewed commitment to the RONA brand. RONA has been a household name for home improvement in Canada for close to 85 years now…We want to build on that and create momentum for this beloved Canadian-operated brand.”

During the transition period, stores will remain open and employees will continue their everyday work. Lowe’s gift cards will also continue to work at RONA+ and other Lowe’s locations across Canada.

They plan on remaining committed to home improvement DIY and contractor customers, and have stated that private brands will remain in the stores’ inventory.
