Nanaimo-based fast ferry service offering late night sailings for concerts and Canucks games

Concerts and sporting events in Vancouver draw huge crowds from Vancouver Island, but one deterrent for islanders is trying to find accommodations and taking time off to stay the night and ferry home the next day.

Now, Vancouver Islanders can mitigate those concerns and get a ride home the same night as the event.

Nanaimo’s Hullo ferry service to downtown Vancouver has announced that on evenings that large events are happening in Vancouver, they will be offering late night sailings back to Nanaimo.

“We’ve had so much demand for late-night sailings, as people from Vancouver Island are looking for an easier and more affordable way to enjoy evening concerts and games in Vancouver,” said Alastair Caddick, Hullo’s Chief Executive Officer.

“After attending events on the mainland, people can now safely travel back home and enjoy the comfort of their own bed.”

The typical daily schedule from Nanaimo to Vancouver has sailings from: 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

From Vancouver to Nanaimo the usual schedule is: 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

And going forward, there will be added sailings from Vancouver to Nanaimo at 10:30 p.m. for Canucks games and 11:30 p.m. for concerts. When those events are happening, the late night sailings will replace the 9:30 p.m. sailing.

Over the months of September and October, the special late night sailing will take place for the following concerts:

  • Coldplay on September 23rd and 24th
  • Morgan Wallen on October 3rd
  • Guns N’ Roses on October 16th
  • Pink on October 21st and 22nd
  • Plus, select Canucks games

To find out specifically what days there will be late night sailings and to plan your concert/Canuck game trip, visit Hullo’s website for bookings and schedules.
