9 candy-filled places to take your kids trick or treating in Victoria this Halloween

Get ready to bust out your costumes, Victoria!

The chills are in the air and Halloween is around the corner.

Gather your dressed-up kidlets and hit the town—Victoria Buzz has compiled a wonderfully sweet list of locations that will be handing out candy to the kids this Halloween!

From community events to candy jackpots at different shopping centres, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Without further delay, here’s 9 locations in and around Victoria that are handing out treats on Halloween:

Westshore Town Centre

Westshore Town Centre is opening its doors to little ghouls and goblins for in-
centre trick-or-treating at participating retailers on Monday, October 31 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

And if you want to take a break from candy, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., kids are invited to take a seat in the pumpkin patch while WTC’s friendly scarecrow friend reads the classic tale, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

Greet the Great Pumpkin in the pumpkin patch at Centre Court!

As a special treat for parents and caregivers, Artigiano will be giving away a complimentary sample of their newest fall specialty drink, spiced apple cider a la mode.

Make sure you get there early, because story time is first come, first served, and so is the apple cider!

9th Annual Treat Street Sidney

The beloved Treat Street Sidney is back!

Downtown Sidney will be closed to traffic and invites all of the little princesses, ghosts, and knights to enjoy a family trick-or-treat event on Halloween.

Everyone will get the opportunity to visit various Treat Stations around Sidney as well as at some of the local merchants.

Free fun for the whole family!

Trick or Treat on the Avenue

Another classic trick-or-treat event is back and ready to keep you and the whole family entertained!

Every Halloween, Oak Bay Village merchants host a giant community trick or treat! Participating merchants offer trick or treat in the stores from Foul Bay Road to Monterey Avenue.

Enjoy live music throughout the afternoon, Halloween-themed balloon twisting, target practice with a fire hose, and their photo booth!

Plus, witness a number of talented performers such as hula hoopers, stilt walkers, jugglers, and aerialists.

There’s a pet parade and costume contest at 4:30 p.m. with prizes at Engel & Volkers, and a kids costume contest at 5:30 p.m. at the Hampshire and Oak Bay Avenue intersection.

Treat Street in the City of Langford

Hosted by the Langford Fire Department, they’re welcoming all costumed kidlets and family members to their annual Treat Street at the Langford Station!

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. trick or treating, free hot dogs, live music, hot chocolate and treats, live music, photo opportunities, games, and more will be available for your enjoyment.

They’re encouraging everyone to bring a donation for the Goldstream Foodbank!

Don’t forget to visit Growlies comfort station (located in the center of the Langford Station Avenue next to the big tree) for a treat for your puppy.

Uptown Shopping Centre: Trick or Treat

Dress up in your best costume and strut your stuff around Uptown Shopping Centre!

Take the little ones on a stroll around Uptown from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and watch for participating businesses with a “trick or treat here” sticker.

Trick or Treat at James Bay Inn Hotel

Bring the whole family down to the historic James Bay Inn Hotel for their second Halloween trick or treat event!

There will be treats and mini hot chocolates available in the lobby for the kidlets.

Don’t worry, there’s fun for the adults too—come in costume for the chance to win a $25 James Bay Inn gift card that can be used at the pub!

Trick or Treat on Cook Street

The Cook Street Village Activity & Wellness Centre invites you and the family to stop by anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Halloween for a treat!

They can’t wait to see all of the brilliant costumes, so make sure you come dressed to impress.

Trick or Treating at the Parliament Building

Step up to the historic Parliament Building for some Halloween fun.

Children and families are invited to join the Parliament Building in downtown Victoria for some delicious treats and festive activities!

The event begins inside the Main Entrance at 3 p.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m.

Mayfair Shopping Centre

Not only do they have treats waiting for you, but magic too!

Experience a Magic Show by Jordano the Great of Tricky Magic, a renowned local Magician who has many tricks up his sleeve.

Stick around after the show is done—Mayfair will be giving out treats after it’s finished!
