Oceanside RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a robbery suspect from an incident that occurred earlier this month at Wembley Mall in Parksville.

On October 11th, at approximately 6:20 p.m., staff at a business within Wembley Mall attempted to apprehend a suspected shoplifter.

However, the situation took a dangerous turn when the suspect produced a knife and threatened the employees.

Fearing for their safety, the suspect abandoned the stolen merchandise and fled the scene on foot.

Oceanside RCMP have yet to identify the female suspect, who is described as being of Caucasian ethnicity, in her mid-thirties, with blond hair, and of average height and build.

Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the suspect to come forward.

If you recognize this individual or have any relevant information, contact the Oceanside RCMP at (250) 248-6111, quoting police file number 2023-11015.
