Hold out your teacup, Victoria!

Presented by the International Tea Appreciation Society (ITAS), the Victoria Tea Festival Revival is set to return to the city on Saturday, October 28th inside the Nootka Court.

Tea enthusiasts are called to come together and drink teas from around the world—each tea will be presented by experts in their fields for a grassroots farm-to-cup experience and community learning!

ITAS’ hope this year is to further expand the community’s knowledge of tea making, art, history, and stories while also giving visitors a chance to connect with the earth and the families that produce teas year to year.

“This festival is always a celebration of those who drink tea and want to enrich their lives, alongside those who wish to hone their tea-making skill,” said International Tea Appreciation Society representative Jared Nyberg.

The teas will be prepared and provided by over 20 merchant educators—sourced from farms all over the world such as Squamish Nation territory, Hawai’i, Japan, China, India, Taiwan, Korea and more, creating an authentic farm-to-cup experience.

The featured topics at the symposium this year will include ‘Bhutanese Ash Fermented Local Tea’, ‘The Ethics of Wildcrafting’ by T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss, ‘The bond between Water and Tea’ by Ranga Pulukkody, ‘Common Mistakes Investing in Pu-er’ by Keira Xiao.

The Victoria Tea Festival is both an in-person and online event, so you can engage in their wide variety of tea topics from anywhere.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own teacup, however, there will also be mini-mason jars available for purchase by donation.

Tickets are priced on a sliding scale between $10-$20 and can be purchased online or at the door.

This is a not-for-profit event and the proceeds help enable ITAS to continue the festival, give fair travel honorariums for out-of-town speakers and educators, and more!
