43-year-old man arrested for threatening to shoot employee of North Saanich business

One man is in custody after threatening to shoot an employee of a business in North Saanich.

On the morning of November 1st, the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a local business.

The suspect entered the establishment, threatened an employee, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Subsequently, the same individual threatened a homeowner in North Saanich, who promptly called police.

RCMP apprehended the suspect in the homeowner’s yard, and upon identification, it was revealed that the 43-year-old man, with no fixed address, was a repeat offender.

He was arrested for the robbery, uttering threats, and found to be wanted on three separate warrants related to property and personal offenses in various regions, including Victoria, the Fraser Valley, and the Saanich Peninsula area.

The arrested individual is currently in custody pending a bail hearing for the new charges and the outstanding warrants.

Police did not confirm whether the suspect was in possession of a weapon when arrested.
