Nanaimo RCMP have issued a plea for public assistance in identifying an individual allegedly involved in an indecent exposure incident at a local fitness club within the Country Club Mall.
The incident is reported to have taken place around 7 p.m. on Monday, October 30th.
According to police, the individual in question is accused of exposing their genitals to both the staff and patrons of the fitness club.
Despite an immediate response by police following the incident, the suspect could not be located at the scene.
According to a media release from RCMP, investigators were informed that the individual had been denied entry to the fitness club due to intoxication.
Subsequently, the suspect, reportedly agitated by this refusal departed the premises before returning to the club entrance, forcefully knocking on the glass doors, and then exposed their genitals to the front counter staff.
Additional reports suggested that the suspect was seen carrying a sword strapped to their back during the incident.
The suspect has been described as a Caucasian man of average height and weight, with brown hair and a beard.
Nanaimo RCMP has urged anyone with information that could lead to the identification of this individual to promptly contact their non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
