Police seek missing 67-year-old Gulf Islands man believed to be in Victoria (UPDATED)

On the morning of Wednesday, November 15th, the Outer Gulf Islands RCMP issued a release saying that Michael Cabeldu has been found and is now safe.


ORIGINAL:

The Outer Gulf Islands RCMP are reaching out to the Greater Victoria public, asking for assistance in locating a missing 67-year-old man.

This RCMP detachment oversees Saturna, Pender, Mayne, Prevost, Galiano, Gossip and Trumbo Islands. 

Police say that on November 11th, 67-year-old Michael Cabeldu was reported missing to them along with his vehicle. He was last seen on Thursday, November 9th. 

According to police, he is believed to be in the Victoria region. 

RCMP describe Cabeldu as a Caucasian male standing 5’7” tall, weighing around 88 pounds, with grey hair and a white beard and green eyes.

He reportedly has a broken right arm in a sling which is not casted and walks with a noticeable limp.

Police say Cabeldu was last seen wearing beige pants, long sleeve shirt, possibly a green vest and brown shoes.

He was reportedly last seen driving a grey 1987 Toyota Van with BC license plate 942 GFF.
