Red Barn bandits make off from Mattick’s Farm location with thousands of dollars in goods

Share

This week, the Mattick’s Farm Red Barn location suffered a break-in and heist in which they lost thousands of dollars’ worth of goods.

In the early hours of Thursday, November 2nd, two suspects could be seen on surveillance cameras breaking into the Red Barn and leaving with a full grocery cart of stolen items.

In a post on social media, Red Barn’s management is pleading with the public to come forward if they know anything.

“Last night, we had a break-in at our Mattick’s Farm location,” read the post. “Thousands worth of valuable product was stolen.”

“As a small local business, we try hard to support our wonderful community, and events like this hurt us all,” they continued.

Red Barn was not specific as to what was taken in their post, but from the photo they provided, it appears as if the suspects got into a walk-in cooler and made off with several boxes and items.

Saanich Police are currently investigating the incident.

“We realize the impact that this crime will have on the Red Barn,” stated Sgt. Damian Kowalewich.

“We are continuing to investigate and gather evidence in the hopes of identifying the individuals.”

Police are also asking anyone who may have information to contact Saanich Police at (250) 475-4321 or, to report anonymously, contact Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
