Lovers of Christmas lights and the holiday spirit, mark this one down in your calendars!

This year marks the 41st annual Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade—slap on your toque and mitts and get downtown to witness the glory of all of the lights and decorations.

According to the Greater Victoria Festival Society, the parade will take place on Saturday, November 25th, kicking off at Belleville and Government Street at 5:20 p.m.

Similar to last year, the route will move north along Government, east on Humboldt, and then north on Douglas, where it will disperse at the Victoria Public Market.

If anyone is feeling chilly or you’re in need of a warm refreshment, Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank will be giving out hot chocolate to parade-goers at Douglas and Humboldt starting at 4:30 p.m.

They will be collecting food and cash for anyone interested in helping out the community and giving back!

Additionally, the Victoria Disability Resource Center will be offering live audio descriptions this year at their location at Government and Belleville—for more information visit their website

Following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking photos by donation at the Hudson Holiday Market at Douglas and Fisgard inside.

Everyone is welcome to come and get warm, grab a drink, and shop at some of your favorite vendors!

In order for this event to commence without risk, road closures will begin downtown at 3 p.m. and will cause a temporary disruption of traffic flow downtown.
