A 4.9 magnitude earthquake in Pemberton has many Vancouver Island residents reporting the felt the quake Sunday afternoon.
According to Earthquakes Canada, the tremor was felt on northern and central Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and many parts of greater Vancouver.

According to the organization, there was an automatic seismic event detection of magnitude 4.5 near Campbell River.
While details appear to be unclear, the epicentre of the tremor is now being reported as a 4.9 magnitude in Pemberton.
No tsunami is expected and no damage has been reported.
People from all over Vancouver Island are reporting they felt shaking at the time of the quake which shook 3:23 p.m. Sunday.
