Hip, hip, hooray for Friday, Victoria!

Welcome the beginning of another magical weekend with festive events such as Laila Biali’s Wintersongs concert, a holiday market at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC), and more.

There’s also a Girls Night! comedy show at The Mint with some stellar local comedians and an evening of hockey where fans are encouraged to wear Ugly Christmas sweaters!

Wintersongs and Holiday Classics with Laila Biali

Getting into the holiday spirit can mean something different for everybody, but for many, music plays an important role in bringing communities and loved ones together.

This is especially true for jazz icon Laila Biali, who is thrilled to be headlining for the ‘Wintersongs and Holiday Classics’ show on December 15th at 7:30 p.m., on stage at the McPherson Playhouse.

The show is partnered with charity Santas Anonymous, and Biali will be joined by a seven-piece ensemble consisting of Jane Bunnett, Rebekah Wolkstein, Dan Fortin,
Ben Wittman, and local string musicians!

Tickets for the event start at $53.25 and you can purchase them here—with a portion of the proceeds going towards Santas Anonymous.

Fort Street Winter Wander

One of Victoria’s favourite holiday traditions is back this Friday!

Wander around Fort Street for a day full of shopping, in-store specials, and more—all while supporting local businesses.

Stores are staying open until 8 p.m. to give you plenty of time to make it down!

VNFC Winter Indigenous Artisan Market 

The Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) welcomes you to check out over 30 Indigenous artists at their Winter Artisan Market!

Their wonderful contributions will include carvings, beadwork, ribbon skirts, silver jewelry, crochet and knit ware, jams and preserves, prints, and much more.

Bring your friends and take home something memorable as a gift or for yourself!

OK, DOPE Comedy Show: Girls Night!

OK, DOPE and Foxy Box is proud to present Girls Night, hosted at The Mint!

Prepare for an evening of epic stand-up comedy featuring some of Vancouver Island’s best female comedians.

Featuring Emily Woods, Pam Stiles, Patricia Ellen, Carolyn Nicholson, featuring Syd Bosel (Canada’s Got Talent), and hosted by Julia Van Der Sloot.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

Victoria Royals vs Tri-City Americans: Ugly Christmas Sweater Night

Head down to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a night of great hockey and holiday cheer!

The Victoria Royals will be playing against the Tri-City Americans.

Sport your best and ugliest Christmas sweater and get entered into the contest—12 lucky fans will win something from their “12 Moments of Giveaways”.

Ticket prices will depend on your seat selection, but they sell for as low as $8.50.
