One of Victoria’s local post-secondary institutions continues to make history!
Camosun College is thrilled to reaffirm its standing as a leading applied research institution in Canada.
This marks their ninth consecutive year on this prestigious list and secures them a spot among the top 50 research colleges in 2023.
Their recognition on this list stems from an award granted from Research Infosource for their Camosun Innovates section of the college—their research arm and home to BC’s first Technology Access Centre.
It recognizes Camosun as a Canadian leader in advanced manufacturing innovation and development, and they plan on continuing to perform at a high standard.
Their performance will align with the college’s 2023 to 2028 Strategic Plan of Strengthening the Camosun Advantage—which prioritizes student preparation for a rapidly changing world through applied learning.
Some of what Camosun Innovates is responsible for includes helping companies address challenging research questions, develop new product designs, and test ideas while allowing companies to retain all of their intellectual property.

Camosun Innovates has also earned them a strong reputation for problem solving, design thinking, productivity improvement, and much more.
Recent innovations they’re particularly proud of include the designing and production of competitive composite equipment for Olympic para-athletes and the digital re-imagination of Indigenous artwork for the ground-breaking Witness Blanket project.
