An equipment failure on Wednesday has left nearly 4,000 BC Hydro customers in Victoria and Saanich without power, prompting swift action from repair crews to address the issue.
The outages occurred at 12:57 p.m. and 1:18 p.m. this afternoon.
BC Hydro said efforts are underway as crews mobilize to restore power to 3,792 affected customers. The outage has significantly impacted areas bordered by Topaz Avenue to the north, Whittier Avenue to the east, Mars Street to the west, and Tattersall Drive to the south.
Among the affected locations, prominent businesses, including the Mayfair Shopping Centre, are grappling with the outage.
