Immerse yourself in a performance brimming with magic and suspense!

Live performance, Peter and the Starcatcher, the award winning Peter Pan precursor will be running from Thursday, December 14th to Sunday, December 17th at the Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA).

This re-imagining of the century-old classic takes us on a journey of adventure, swashbuckling heroes, roguish pirates, and accidental friends.

Audiences will follow a young orphan and his mates on a ship bound for a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff, and witness how Peter becomes the legendary Peter Pan!

Peter & the Starcatcher invites everyone to step into an imaginary world of old school theatre and experience the entire ensemble here to create a boisterous and nostalgic world of make-believe and imagination.

“The play exists in the world of imagination. It invites the audience to suspend its disbelief and believe that anything is possible,” said Director Evan Frayne, Chair of CCPA’s Acting Department.

The play was written by Rick Elice, and is a fast paced, family-friendly story that upends the well-known century-old story in a way that leaves a lasting impression.

In fact, Peter & the Starcatcher ended up becoming a Broadway hit, receiving nine Tony Award nominations and five wins!

It’ll be performed by CCPA’s Year II Diploma and Certificate students, which marks the 4th production of CCPA’s 25th Anniversary line up.

“We strove to select a work that would actively engage and challenge our ensemble of young professionals while offering audiences an epic adventure and escape for the holiday season,” said Managing Artistic Director Caleb Marshall.

“Our world wants us to grow up quickly. This production balances the meaningfulness of self-discovery while underscoring the importance of preserving childlike play and imagination—something we all benefit from.”

General adult tickets for the show are $30 and can be purchased here. It’s suitable for ages ten and up
