Happy Friday, Victoria, and get ready for a busy one!

As you may already know, Hockey Day in Canada is officially in full swing and has been offering an incredible list of festivities across the city.

This Friday will feature a special book signing at Munro’s Books with some huge hockey legends, and then fans and enthusiasts will head to Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for the SHDIC Alumni and Celebrity Classic game!

Other events to check out include an improve tour with the cast from Emmy-nominated TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, a fun night of pop punk with local bands, and more.

Hockey Day in Canada: Book Signing

Hockey and literature fans unite!

In celebration of Hockey Day in Canada being hosted in Victoria this weekend, Munro’s Books is hosting a special book signing with three very familiar faces: Ron MacLean, Ken Reid, and Brian Burke.

Each of these individuals have phenomenal stories to tell and are thrilled to present them to anyone excited to listen and learn more about the significance of hockey in communities across Canada.

The event is free to attend, all you have to do is bring your enthusiastic self and open yourself up to the chaotic and wonderful hockey world!

Hockey Day in Canada: Alumni Game

Check out the SHDIC Alumni and Celebrity Classic Game at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre as a part of the Hockey Day in Canada festivities!

The game will feature modified rules designed to keep spectators engaged and provide a unique entertainment experience to everyone in attendance.

Hockey fans will recognize former stars such as Andrew Ference, Kevin Bieksa, Wendell Clark, Lanny McDonald, Bill Ranford, Kirk McLean, Darcy Tucker, Nathan Lafayette, Greg Adams, Doug Bodger, Clayton Stoner, Matt Pettinger and others.

Well-known Sportsnet broadcasters will also participate, including Ron MacLean, David Amber, Jennifer Botterill and Evanka Osmak.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

The current cast members of the Emmy-nominated TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway? are thrilled to visit Victoria with their new improv tour titled, Whose Line Is It Anyway?

As described, the show will be 90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song all based on audience suggestions.

Cast members Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray promise to leave you gasping with their witty scenes, all invented before your eyes!

Victorian Stationary Lecture

The Emily Carr House invites you to explore the etiquette surrounding Victorian-style stationery as well as the manufacture, delivery, and display of calling cards in upper-class society in the 19th century.

The event will feature a speaker from Vancouver Island Local History Society and there will be coffee and tea provided onsite.

Admission fee is $5, and this can be paid online or in person.

Pop Punk Night

Lucky Bar will be hosting an evening of iconic pop punk anthems as well as some new original music from local bands!

Grab your friends and sing along to Razorvoice, Pidgin, Queens Park, and Electric Jane.

Tickets are $15 at the door.
