It’s officially February, Victoria—the month of love!

With each passing day we get closer to spring, and what better way to warm the rest of your winter than to celebrate your loved ones and remind people how much you care.

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, we’ve got some fun events to check out and bring a date or some pals to!

Aaron Pritchett, a country icon, will be in Sidney, there’s a love-themed open mic at Quadratic Sound, or you can enjoy an evening of laughter for a good cause.

Liquored Up Tour

Attention country fans!

Aaron Pritchett, a Canadian country icon, will be taking over the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney with special guests Cory Marks and Matt Lang for his Liquored Up Tour.

Pritchett is a multiple GOLD-Certified recording artist, with CCMA Awards, JUNO nominations, and many top charted songs such as ‘Hold My Beer’ and ‘Let’s Get Rowdy.’

Tickets are just over $70 and can be purchased here.

Thursdays Together at Quadratic Sound

This week’s Thursdays Together open mic will be hosted by Alexandra Baynes and will explore the highs and lows of love!

This week’s theme is Love and Heartbreak, so be prepared for soul-stirring melodies and poetic verses that capture the essence of all things love. If you wish to sign up to perform, you can do so here.

Tickets are on a sliding scale between $5 to $15 and there is an additional one-time $5 membership fee for non-members or you can show your proof of BC Ska Society membership.

Liver and Life Comedy Fundraiser

Join the crew at Hecklers Bar and Grill for a night of liver-busting laughs!

Liver & Life Society’s annual comedy fundraiser is promising a night of fantastic storytelling from headliners Dan Duvall and Damonde Tschhritter, as well as host Aaron Read.

Laughter’s the best medicine and it’s always best to have fun as well as support a good cause!

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.

Writers’ Open Mic

Head down to Gigi’s Cafe for an evening of inspiration, creativity, hard-hitting lines, and more at their Open Mic for writers.

If you’re feeling brave, come with your writing and present it to an audience within a 10 minute time-slot.

Everyone is happy to listen to whatever you have—be it poetry, fiction, or nonfiction!

Their kitchen and coffee bar will be open, so you can enjoy some delicious refreshments while you listen!

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to visit the gallery now’s your chance—the evenings on Thursdays are completely free. Grab your family and friends and take a moment to appreciate local art and beauty.
