Another rainy Tuesday awaits, Victoria!

We’ve got just the cure for another rain-filled Tuesday evening—sure to lift your spirits and provide some fun entertainment.

Check out a Vancouver based bluegrass quintet, try your hand in a couple of different trivia opportunities, catch a classic film at Cinecenta, and more!

The Mighty Teardrops

The Victoria Bluegrass Association (VBA) is thrilled to present The Mighty Teardrops, a Vancouver based bluegrass quintet who serve up gorgeous traditional music with drive and sweetness!

The Mighty Teardrops’ live show has been a hit at bluegrass festivals and taverns alike, leaving audiences thrilled by the songs and the showmanship.

Admission is cash only at the door and is $7 and $5 for VBA members.

Benji’s Trivia at Whistle Buoy

Time to dust off your thinking caps and secure them tight!

Benji’s Trivia Night at Whistle Buoy Brewing is back for another round of mind-benders and stumpers to test the extent of your knowledge.

Catch a Classic at Cinecenta

Playing this Tuesday at both 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. is the revolutionary Hiroshima mon amour, which first came out in 1958.

It’s about a brief, intense affair between a French actress (Emmanuelle Riva) and a Japanese architect (Eiji Okada) in postwar Hiroshima.

This film has an Academy Award-nonimanted screenplay from novelist Marguerite Duras and is described as “a moody masterwork that delicately weaves past and present, personal pain and public anguish.”

Tickets for the general public are $9 and $7 for UVic students—for all admission rates, visit their website.

Maude’s Trivia Night

Widely popular and always worth the trip, Maude’s returns for another Tuesday of epic trivia!

Bring your team and get ready to crank out some wild facts, play along to win prizes, and treat yourself to some of Maude’s delicious beer-battered fries and beer on tap.

Trivia starts at 8 p.m. but make sure to come early — especially if you have a larger table, otherwise you’ll have to come back next week!

No fee to play.

Visit Miniature World

Attached to the hip of the Fairmont Empress, this big little world features over 85 exciting miniature dioramas and displays!

It’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Victoria and is definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been.

Now’s your chance to step into the Story Books of fact, fiction and fantasy.

Admission rate for an adult is $18, $11 for a youth aged 13 to 17 years old, and $9 for a child aged 5 to 12 years old).
