You’re in for a treat this week and into mid-February, as Intrepid Theatre’s OUTstages is ready to take over the city and wow you with a variety of performances.

Make sure you check that out!

There’s also a classic and chill comedy night at The Mint, a drop-in writers group, and your reminder to grab some hot chocolate while the festival is on.

OUTstages: A Decidedly Queer Theatre Festival

Theatre lovers, drama addicts, and adrenaline cravers, pay attention!

Intrepid Theatre is thrilled to present their 10th annual OUTstages: a decidedly queer theatre festival, kicking off on January 31st and running until February 11th.

This huge 10th-year celebration will bring dazzling queer performances and adventurous programming to Victoria with a 12-day run of eclectic and electric shows by queer artists from both Vancouver Island and other areas of Canada!

Shackleton – Greatest Story of Survival: IMAX

Use the chill outside as an excuse to cozy up for an incredible film, Shackleton – Greatest Story of Survival, in IMAX!

In 1913 Sir Ernest Shackleton set sail with 27 men to attempt to cross the frozen continent of Antarctica on foot. His vessel became trapped in sea ice. After nearly a year locked in the ice, the ship was crushed, forcing the crew into a desperate battle to survive and find their way back to civilization.

Join explorer Tim Jarvis on this incredible experience, reliving Shackleton’s harrowing journey while crossing the perilous landscapes of the great Antarctica and South Georgia.

Comedy Night at The Mint

Dim the lights and set the stage—Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance have picked another great lineup for this Wednesday’s comedy night!

It’s Lit! Drop-In Writers Group

If you’re looking for a quiet and inspirational place to sit down and write, Small Gods Brewing in Sidney is the place for you!

Every Wednesday they host a drop-in writers group where people will come and work as well as enjoy a delicious beer.

There’s no drop-in fee or registration required—just show up with your creative cap on!

Hot Chocolate Festival

In case you haven’t had the chance to indulge in the hot chocolate craze happening in Victoria right now, there’s still time!

The Hot Chocolate Festival kicked off on January 20th and will be running until February 20th—so you have plenty of opportunities to check out the masterful hot chocolate creations around town.

The participating local businesses will be putting the money raised towards the BC SPCA Victoria Community Animal Centre!

Participating locations include popular hotspots like the Fairmont Empress, Chocolate & Co, Pure Lovin’, Shirley Delicious, and more.
