Death of 33-year old Nanaimo woman deemed a homicide

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle associated to a homicide investigation in Nanaimo.

On January 10th, Nanaimo RCMP responded to a wellness check request for a 33-year-old woman in Nanaimo.

Witnesses had already attended her apartment, encountering an unknown man and inside the suite, along discovering the deceased woman.

Despite their efforts, the man fled the scene and could not be immediately located.

The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit took charge of the investigation, working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following a thorough investigation, on January 16th, the woman’s death has been classified as a homicide. The unidentified man, who initially fled the apartment, has since been identified and has cooperated with the police in their ongoing investigation.

As the investigation progresses, police are reaching out to the public for assistance.

Investigators are particularly interested in locating a gray 2007 Nissan Sentra with BC plate SP272P (stock photo), reported stolen and believed to be linked to the case.
