Fake dentist wanted by police for review of release order: Saanich Police

Share

Saanich Police have released the photo of a man accused of impersonating a dental hygienist just a couple weeks after he was charged.

On January 10th, Emmanuel Osaseri was charged with two criminal code offenses for impersonating a dental hygienist and is now wanted across BC for a review of his release order.

Osaseri was initially arrested on Thursday, January 5th and charged just one week later for providing fraudulent dental care for people without proper training or licensing.

The BC College of Oral Health Practitioners (BCCOHP) says Osaseri was never registered with their organization, who are the authority over all dentists and dental hygienists in BC.

Osaseri was charged with personation with intent to gain advantage as well as fraud under $5,000.

After he was charged, Osaseri was released with conditions, which include not being allowed to attend any dental offices, unless he has an appointment of his own.

According to police, there are reasonable grounds to believe that Osaseri has, or is about to, violate the release order he was given—specifically by attempting to work again while unqualified.

Osaseri is now wanted across the province for a review of this release order.

“To prevent Mr. Osaseri from providing further dental treatment to the public, and to serve the Warrant, the Saanich Police Major Crime Unit would like any information that could lead to his arrest,” stated Sgt Damian Kowalewich.

If you know the whereabouts of Osaseri or have seen him, you can call Saanich Police at (250) 475-4321.
