Pet lovers, get out your cameras and expert posing skills!

If you’re always sharing your pet photos on Facebook, Instagram, or maybe even to a stranger on the bus, the BC SPCA has the purr-fect outlet for you.

They have officially announced the return of their annual call for the best and cutest pet photos for their 2025 pet calendar, presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

From Tuesday, January 30th through to Saturday, February 17th at 8 p.m., all of you pet parents are invited to share your furry family member’s photo and compete for one of the 12 available pages.

“Sharing your beloved pet’s photo and story in our Calendar Contest is the perfect way to celebrate their special place in your life and heart while also raising urgently needed funds for abandoned, abused and injured animals,” said Alina Wilson, senior officer, digital giving.

All you have to do is upload your pet’s photo and story to the Calendar Contest website and then invite friends and family to donate in support.

Six dogs and six cats (or other amazing pets that happen to wow the public) with the most votes will be chosen for either the cover of the calendar or one of the 12 pages.

Everyone will be able to purchase this new calendar online once all of the photos have been chosen and the calendar has been finalized.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition will also be offering some special rewards again for participants—including a launch day special and the Hill’s Honourable Mention, awarded to an outstanding pet entry who raises 50 votes or more.

On launch day, January 30th, if you sign up for the contest with a donation of $25 or more, you get 25 bonus votes from Hill’s up to 50 votes total. This is a one-day only deal!

If you’re curious Hill’s Pet Nutrition are the ones that supply all of the food for the cats and dogs in BC SPCA care.

“There’s no better way to celebrate beloved pets while also giving vulnerable animals a chance to find their own safe, loving home,” said Frances Cheslo, engagement specialist with Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada.

“Every year we’re surprised and delighted by this caring community. We look forward to crowning one lucky pet as the Hill’s Honourable Mention.”

The BC SPCA’s Calendar Contest raises vital funds for animal welfare, including animal protection, sheltering and adoption and a wide range of outreach, advocacy and education services.

According to a media release, last year, the BC SPCA helped more than 135,000 domestic, farm and wild animals in need thanks to caring British Columbians.
