Police searching for missing teenage girl after she failed to return home: Nanaimo RCMP (UPDATED)

Nanaimo RCMP have confirmed that the missing 17-year-old youth has been located and is safe and sound.

RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 17-year-old girl from the Lower Mainland who is believed to be in the Nanaimo area. 

Leela Scarff-Sparrow and was expected to return home on January 2nd. 

Reports revealed to investigators that Scarff-Sparrow may be staying at an AirBnB in the Departure Bay area of Nanaimo. 

Police have conducted extensive patrols, however, they have been unsuccessful in locating the teen. 

Scarff-Sparrow is described as a non-white youth, standing at 5 ‘1” inch tall, weighing 110 pounds, and has long blonde/brown hair and brown eyes. 

Police said the picture provided is recent.
