Everyone loves a good belly laugh!—so, why not several?
Garden City Improv is soon joining forces with KWENCH Culture Club to bring comedy-seeking fans not one, but two Friday night improv shows to meet all of your creative comedy needs!
The shows will include a competitive comedy mayhem of Theatresports and the no rules hilarity of Improv After Party—starting Friday, February 9th and running until Friday, April 26th.
During the first half of the evening, the local cast of Theatresports will split into teams and go head-to-head in a weekly improv comedy contest, and you as the audience will decide the winner!
It will be directed by three-time Toronto Theatresports Champion and Edinburgh Fringe Veteran Kevin Matviw (JFL Toronto, Best of Second City), who is thrilled to bring this recurring event to Victoria.
“Garden City Improv and KWENCH are proud to bring pro-level improv comedy to Victoria’s nightlife with Theatresports and Improv After Party,” said Matviw.
“Both shows are perfect for folks looking to start their weekend with a beer and a laugh. All GCI performances are completely improvised based on audience suggestions, which means you can come back and watch a brand new, hilarious show every week!”
Matviw’s work has been described as “comedy gold” and “Saturday Night Live worthy”—but don’t just take their word for it, experience it for yourself with pals!
