VicPD are looking to speak with the victim of an assault that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in downtown Victoria, where a man was arrested for spitting in the face of a woman.
On Tuesday, January 16th just before 1:30 p.m., an officer conducting routine patrols in the downtown core witnessed a man spit in the face of a woman pushing a baby in a stroller near the intersection of Quadra Street and Yates Street.
She was walking past the suspect in the opposite direction and officers believe the assault was random.
The victim confirmed with the officer that the man had spit in her face, but then she left the area while the officer was arresting the suspect, who was held in custody for court.
The victim is described as a Caucasian woman, ranging from 25 to 35 years of age, wearing a dark winter jacket, and pushing a baby stroller.
