From one locker room to the other!
The Victoria Royals, currently on a road trip, have announced a trade today, acquiring defenseman Jaren Brinson from the Regina Pats.
What makes this trade unique is that the two teams are set to clash later this afternoon.
The Royals acquired the 2004-born defenseman from the Regina Pats in exchange for a 2025 6th-round pick and a 2027 9th-round pick.

Brinson has appeared in 27 games for the Pats this season, where he has tallied one goal and added four assists for five points.
The Airdrie, AB native has played 173 games in the WHL across four seasons split between Prince George, Winnipeg, Spokane, and Regina. Over that time, he has registered six goals and 18 assists for 24 points.

The 6’2”, 174-pound defenseman was originally selected 36th overall in the second round of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft by the Prince George Cougars.
Currently on an eastern road trip, the Royals are scheduled to begin tonight against the Pats. However, it hasn’t been confirmed if Brinson will play for the Royals tonight.
