Two missing Campbell River teens believed to be actively evading police

Campbell River RCMP has confirmed that two missing teens reported earlier this week are believed to be together and actively evading police.

Dommie Malcolmson and Cora Potoski were first reported missing to police at approximately 3:30 p.m. on February 12th.

A media release was issued earlier this week; however, police have now been able to determine that the two teens travelled together and arrived on Quadra Island at approximately 1 p.m. on the day they were reported missing.

“It is believed that the two teens have been attempting to evade detection and are somewhere on Quadra island,” said Campbell River RCMP’s Cst Maury Tyre.

“Police and family are very concerned for the well being of Cora and Dommie,” he added.

At this point in time, police believe that the girls may be attempting to camp in the thick forests of Quadra Island and are ill prepared to be doing so.

Police urge residents of Quadra Island and Cortez Island to remain vigilant and watch for Malcolmson and Potoski, as well as any signs of a camp or recently used campsite.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of the teens are asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
