Sooke RCMP have arrested two individuals following a drug trafficking investigation.

On Thursday, February 1st, officers received information about alleged drug activity in a parking lot in the 6700 block of West Coast Road in Sooke.

Police responded and located the two suspects that matched the provided description—a 58-year-old man of Esquimalt and a 48-year-old woman of no fixed address were arrested.

An additional search related to their arrest resulted in the recovery of around two pounds of suspected methamphetamine, over 80 suspected Dilaudid pills, and a small bag of suspected cocaine.

“The prompt arrests of those individuals were possible due to the watchful eye of a concerned citizen,” said Staff Sergeant Greg Willcocks, detachment commander of the Sooke RCMP.

“The Sooke detachment will continue to target drug traffickers and prolific offenders in our community.”

The individuals were released pending a further court date and the investigation will continue.

Anyone with any further information is asked to contact Sooke RCMP at (250) 642-5241.
