VicPD believe they have obtained images from a CCTV source which depict a suspect in an unprovoked assault case from November of last year.

Now, investigators have released the captured images and are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.

At around 11 p.m. on November 22nd, police say that the victim of this assault was walking near Fifth Street Pub at the intersection of Kings Street and Fifth Street.

There, an unknown person reportedly approached the victim and, without provocation, punched him in the face.

Police say the victim suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and had to be treated in the hospital.

According to VicPD investigators, the suspect they are looking for is described as a very dark-skinned man in his twenties, standing approximately six feet tall with a slim build, wearing a green hoodie and black track pants.

Police put out a call for CCTV footage on December 15th and since then, have obtained stills from footage of a man they believe to be their primary suspect.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect, or has information about this incident should call the VicPD at (250) 995-7654.

To report anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online.
