Victoria’s biggest musical acts band together to celebrate life and career of Dylan Willows

Share

Dylan Willows is not just any radio host.

He is a champion of the community and in his many years of running the morning show on The Zone @ 91-3, he has made a difference in countless Victorians’ lives.

Recently he was diagnosed with late stage cancer that he thought he had beat 20 odd years ago.

Tragically and unexpectedly, the cancer returned, and just this month, Willows announced he would be leaving The Zone for good to spend the rest of the time he has left with his newlywed wife and family.

Following this announcement, the music scene in Victoria felt moved and wanted to show their appreciation for all that Willows has done for the community and for their careers.

Jon and Roy, Current Swell, Miina, the Bankes Brothers, Astrocolor, Acres of Lions, Vince Vaccaro, Liinks, Tyler Harvey and Mike Hann and Deep Sea Gypsies are just some of the artists who will be on the bill for the Dylan Willows Celebration.

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 19th at the Royal Theatre and a website is being created which will feature a donation link for those who wish to donate to Willows and his family, but cannot attend the show.

Willows lives for radio, and his passion and dedication were always clear to listeners and to festival-goers who would see him welcoming acts to the stage.

He has inspired an entire generation of broadcasters and those who work in media to do all they can to uplift the music scene as he has done.

This celebration is meant to show him how passionate and dedicated Victoria is to him and the work he has done to make the music scene in the city the best it can be.

According to the organizers of this event, it is expected to sell out. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. this Thursday, February 29th.

100% of the proceeds will go to Dylan Willows.
