‘Breaking the loneliness’: Our Place to host Easter Dinner for those in need this week

Share

As spring is the season for new beginnings, Easter marks the perfect time to share acts of kindness and spread hope in your community.

And that’s exactly what Our Place Society intends on doing this Tuesday, March 26th as they serve an Easter Lunch to those in need.

With the help of volunteers and staff, they plan on welcoming over 600 members of Victoria’s downtown community to their table from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well as a special appearance from the Easter bunny himself!

“People from all walks of life are still struggling to make ends meet this year,” says Julian Daly, CEO of Our Place.

“Serving an Easter meal to those who might otherwise go without is just one small way of breaking the loneliness that so many people feel when they are struggling.

The Easter Lunch will include a home-cooked feast of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables and gravy.

Additionally, Rogers’ Chocolate have donated some special Easter chocolate treats for all of the attendees to enjoy.

“Whether it’s due to poverty, addiction or mental health struggles, we continue to show that Our Place staff are here to listen, share and support,” Daly said.
