Oak Bay Police arrested an allegedly intoxicated woman after she threw a tantrum upon being denied alcohol in a restaurant.

On March 19th at around 4:30 p.m., a restaurant owner reported that there was a woman inside the establishment throwing things.

According to the owner, the woman had attempted to purchase more alcohol and was denied due to her intoxicated state.

The woman then became upset and allegedly started throwing items, including glassware, which broke on the floor.

Officers attended the scene and arrested the 27-year-old woman for mischief and held her in custody until she was sober and could then take care of herself.

The woman was released with a court date and under the condition that she no longer attend the restaurant.

A few days later, the owner of the business decided not to press charges against the woman, as she was promptly removed by police, spent the night in a cell and caused minimal damage.
