Comox Valley RCMP have issued a warning urging residents to take proactive measures in securing their homes following a series of recent break-ins.
With incidents reported in Courtenay and Comox, police are urging extra vigilance among the community to deter further criminal activities.
According to RCMP, Courtenay witnessed break-ins at residences located on Hornby Place and Thorpe Avenue on February 24th and March 1st, respectively.
Meanwhile, Comox experienced a similar incident on February 28th at a property situated on Aspen Road near Guthrie Road.
Notably, all three locations are located within a mere 15-minute drive from each other.
“Those incidents remain actively under investigation, including whether or not there is a connection between them,” RCMP said in a statement.
In light of these incidents, Comox Valley RCMP are emphasizing the importance of reviewing security-camera footage and reporting any suspicious activities.
The thieves appear to be targeting cash and valuables.
