Celebrate the richness and diversity of francophone culture, from here and abroad, as well as French-Canadian traditions!

The Victoria Francophone Society (SFV) is excited to announce the program for their annual Franco Fest and extend the invitation to anyone that wishes to participate.

Starting on Monday, March 11th and running until Saturday, March 16th, Franco Fest will bring a collection of incredible community events including workshops, guest speakers, musical performances, a market and more!

The festival will kick off with a workshop/conference with author Thomas Sandoz, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver, as he speaks about the cultural politics that influence the literary landscape of French-speaking Switzerland.

Tuesday, March 12th will give Victoria residents the chance to listen in on Les Décibels choir at 7 p.m. as they rehearse.

Wednesday, March 13th presents a master class with Robin LeBlanc and his family to learn Acadian dance and traditional Acadian songs and folklore at 6 p.m at École Victor-Brodeur in Esquimalt.

The 14th of March has been proclaimed B.C. Francophonie Day in Victoria, and to celebrate, everyone is invited to gather at la Maison de la Francophonie de Victoria for 10 a.m. That evening, there will be two additional back-to-back events taking place at the same location.

This will include a concert from the LeBlanc family!

Franco Kitchen Party, an evening of French-Canadian culture and Acadian music, will take place on March 15th. Enjoy a delicious meal inspired by the traditions of the sugar shack, as well as musical performances by the LeBlanc family and Kouskous, who will have everyone dancing.

The festival will wrap up with the Festive Franco Market from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Victor-Broudre School and will feature French-speaking artisans and artists.
