Share

VicPD investigators are trying to locate one of the victims of an assault which occurred on Friday, March 22nd.

At around 11:15 p.m. on the corner of Yates and Government Streets, police say they responded to a report of assault.

They say that while en route to the scene, they were flagged down by an additional victim who had suffered visible, non-life-threatening injuries.

This secondary victim told officers where the suspect was located, but then left the area, according to VicPD.

When police arrived at the scene, they say they arrested a suspect and were approached by the initial victim they had heard from.

This individual confirmed with officers that it was the same suspect who had assaulted them.

Police say the two victims are not known to each other or the suspect, and that both of the assaults are believed to be random attacks.

VicPD later released the suspect with an order to attend a future court date.

Investigators are now looking to speak with the unidentified victim.

They are calling on the unidentified victim of this assault who flagged them down, or anyone who has information to call VicPD at (250) 995-7654.
