Pedestrian dies after being struck by suspected impaired driver in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP are currently at the site of a fatal pedestrian collision, following an incident where the pedestrian was struck by an alleged impaired driver.

The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2nd, at the junction of Boundary Avenue and Meredith Road.

The victim, identified as an adult woman, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a portion of Boundary Avenue, spanning from Meredith Road to Nelson Street, has been cordoned off while the investigation is ongoing.

The driver of the involved vehicle, an adult male, has been apprehended and is under investigation for suspected impaired driving.

No other details were released.
