8 reasons why your business should be a part of Festival of Trees this year

Share

We can’t wait for the holiday season to get here, and for one reason: beautifully
decorated Christmas trees!

The BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is bringing the 31st annual Festival of Trees to the Bay Centre in Victoria again, starting in November.

This local tradition is the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season in the Capital Region.

Festival of Trees will raise funds for diabetes research at BC Children’s Hospital.

According to the organization, a child is diagnosed with diabetes every three to four days.

In BC alone, there are 2,500 children and youth who are currently living with diabetes and that number is growing. Diabetes is a serious, lifelong and often life-limiting disease.

Researchers at BC Children’s are working tirelessly to change that. As a world leader in pediatric diabetes care and research, experts at BC Children’s are leading the way to find new ways to diagnose, treat, and, ultimately, cure this devastating disease.

This year, your company could be one of the proud businesses involved with this amazing tradition! If you own or work with a local business or organization, we have 8
good reasons why you should get involved with Festival of Trees.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As we continue to be in challenging times globally, consumers are looking more and
more to spend their dollars with companies and organizations that care about the
community. Show the community your spirit by participating in an event raising funds for
the only hospital in BC dedicated exclusively to caring for sick and injured children.

Brand recognition

Your business will gain valuable brand recognition by partnering with the most
recognized brand in all of British Columbia*.

Engage with your customers and employees

Each sponsor will receive a complimentary engagement toolkit designed to help you
utilize your participation in the Festival of Trees to engage with your customers and
employees.

Staff retention

Your team will have the opportunity to come together, share in the holiday spirit,
brainstorm a theme and decorate a tree, all while collaborating to support sick kids in
BC. Team building activities like this aid in staff retention.

Local impact – Island numbers are rising

On average over 5,000 kids from Vancouver Island are admitted to BC Children’s
Hospital every year. That’s nearly 14 kids every single day on Vancouver Island who
are told they have a condition that can only be treated at BC Children’s Hospital. Last
year, that number was 10 Island kids per day. The numbers are rising.

Local media coverage

Each year the Festival of Trees partners with some of the top media outlets in Victoria,
including Victoria Buzz, Ocean 98.5, CHEK TV, Used.ca and Black Press. The
sponsorship level you choose, and the amounts of funds you are able to raise, will
determine how much recognition and coverage you receive.

Support diabetes research

In BC alone, there are 2,500 children and youth who are currently living with diabetes
and that number is growing. Diabetes is a serious, lifelong and often life-limiting
disease.

Researchers at BC Children’s are working tirelessly to change that. As a world leader in
pediatric diabetes care and research, experts at BC Children’s are leading the way to
find new ways to diagnose, treat, and, ultimately, cure this devastating disease.

Return on your investment

Your business can get all of this, including six weeks of specialized branding at the Bay
Centre, for as little as $1,000 with all proceeds benefiting BC Children’s Hospital
Foundation. This is an affordable marketing tactic that ensures you get quality return on
your investment.
